How To Treat Infected Toe Post Amputation Of Nearby Toe?

My uncle about 65 year,In the month of June 2015,had an accident and his toe was hurt.Soon after one month it developed drying the skins and badly smells,doctor have taken out his finger from his leg now its seems other also being infected.Dr.want to cut his leg. He is not a diabetics.Please help your best suggestion. Thanks. Daman/Vapi India.

I can understand your concern

infected badly injured toe should be removed from healthy part ,otherwise it may spread to otherparts also

even though If you are not having diabetes ,here gangrene may spread to other toes.

so as your doctor advised ,just undergo once the colour Doppler study of arterial and venous system of that leg ,check the level of blood circulation ,amputation of gangrenous part is better decision..ok

till that time plz continue antibiotic like augmentin 625 twice daily and analgesic for pain relief ..ok

don't worru ,do the colour Doppler first plz ..
