Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I a 30 years old having mild hydrocele. My doctor told after 7 years when it grows you will have a surgery. After surgery hydrocele reoccur or finishes. And I will be having normal life. I can go back to my job. I can walk easily and do normal activity. I am worried a lot.
As per your query you are of 30 and have mild hydrocele which occurs because of subclinical infection and accumulation of serous fluids. If there is swelling along with fluid collection it needs to be operated immediately.
I would suggest you to get a preliminary ultrasonography and color doppler examination. If this is swelling which increases and reduces , this may be left alone at the moment and can go for surgery when you are mentally prepared to go for this. If it is hydrocele alone, you can still wait and watch. It is rarely possible that it will regress on its own. This can be aspirated , but most of the times it recurs.
The Surgery is very simple . You can go home the same day. Nothing is removed except the fluid and the sac is everted. A few stitches are required , which too can be solvable. Take your time and go for surgery whenever you are feeling free to get operated .
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
