How To Treat Gas Problems?

I have a dull pain in my upper right side. I cannot seem to stop bell chin and passing gas. I fell like a blown up balloon, especially as the day goes by. I had diahhea for almost a month and now I am constipated. I have had my gallbladder removed. In jAnuary I had a colonoscopy for precancerous polyps and have suffered from ulcerative colitis for 36 years. Exam showed little inflammation in lower bowel, diverticulosis in mid bowel and two polyps in the upper section of large bowel. The pain was present prior to the exam however, the night of the exam I started to feel extreme discomfort from gas, had to be treated in emergency. Actually got sick and vomited. I have had 50 or more colonoscopies in my lifetime with no adverse results. My appetite does not seem to be overly affected. I might note that I have been traveling back and forth from Canada and the US

HI
Thank for asking to HCM
I really appreciate your concern, the given history is suggestive of some intestinal infection either protozoa or bacteria but the protozoa infection is very likely and the most possible organism would be "Giardia" if I would be your doctor then I would treat this case with the following medicine,
1) Tab Ofloxacin with Tinidazole 200+ 700 mg twice in day for two days
hope this information helps you, have nice day.
I find this answer helpful
