I have fungal infection on chest. There are three spots dark color. I was prescribed nystatin and Triamcinolone, however the spots are still there. I was told by provider that it will take time for it to go away, however it has been 9months and still no sign. Sometimes it gets lighter however, it does not go away.. Is this normal?
Hello dear, Welcome to HCM. I have read your query and understood your concern.
If it is a confirmed fungal infection, you need to take oral and topical antifungals. Nystatin is an antifungal drug but triamcinolone is a steroid that will willl be of no use in fungal infection. It will rather aggravate the problem and will delay the recovery.
I will advice you to discuss this with your treating doctor. I am sure he will agree with my opinion. good luck.
