General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello and welcome.

First of all, the pain has to be investigated using an x-ray of the region, blood profile including tests like ESR, CRP, RA factor, serum uric acid, etc. Once the cause for the pain is identified, we can work on treating the cause and not the symptoms.

I do recommend against omnacortil (prednisolone) as this is a steroid and should only be used when the overlying condition cannot be treated or is taking time to heal. Discontinue the steroid as this can only cause harm in the long run, nothing else.

Best wishes.
