How To Treat Food Refusal In Children?

My son is 1 yr and 10 months and weighs about 10kg. He has not put on weight since a year now and does not eat food at all. If hungry he only drinks milk. He has puffyness beliw his eyes and I think his bloid count may be low. Are there any multi vitamin syrups that can be given to increase his appetite and for him to gain weight.

Hi
Thankyou for your query.

Children who drink more then 500 ml milk in a day are likely to have iron deficiency anemia.
Also, due to poor diet he will be deficient in other vitamins.
Start him on multivitamin syrup and iron syrup.
But diet improvement is most important. Reduce the milk quantity and child will feel hungry , gradually will accept normal diet. Make him sit on the table with others while eating.
No such syrup that increases appetite
His growth chart has to be monitored , kindly keep a record of 6monthly weight and height.
Hope this is helpful
