How To Treat Fatigue, severe Pain In Collar Bone And Involuntary Breathing Due To Pneumonia?

I was diagnosed with Pneumonia 3 weeks ago after my doctor sent me to the hospital after examining me. She knows I m tough and don t even take medication for headaches so for her to see me in pain (severe under my left ribs and towards the centre of the body) she knew it needed attention. After an xray then a CT scan they said Pneumonia and released me with a script for 2 broad spectrum antibiotics. All I had was pain, no cough or other usual symptoms. I could not lay down vertical so I had to sleep sitting. I could no yawn unless it was an 8 part process, little bits at a time. Fatigue is also high and I have run a consistent low range temperature. A week ago after taking the antibiotics and not feeling much better, I returned to the doctor and she said the antibiotic was a low grade so she gave me a higher grade - she also had a bone scan done to rule out any breaks. All good. I have taken the new antibiotics and although the rib pain is not as severe, I have severe collar bone pain, still cannot yawn in one go or sleep vertically. I also take these involuntary breaths every now and then that sound like I am having a little gasp for air. After 3 weeks I am so over the pain and the fatigue and am wondering if I need a second opinion.

1. Since CT-Scan has been done and apart from pneumonia nothing is concluded it is wise to continue with the said meddications.

2. Since chest pain is related ro breathing, and there is absence of trauma thus pleural pathology is mosy certain, seek an opinion of Pulmonologist, and follow recommended guideines:

. Bed rest till recovery
. Oxygen by nasal mask/catheter
. Broad spectrum antibiotic covering gram +ve and gram -ve organism ( Ampicillin + Gentamycin, or Penicillin + Gentamycin.
. Lin. Codeine if distressing cough.
. Syr. Bromhexine if excessive secretions.
. Use analgesics which does not depress respiration.
