How To Treat Ear Infection Which Has Bleeding And Pus ?

my friend has an ear infection she told me so far its been 1month. Her ear hasn't stopped bleeding and it has puss. She has also been given antibiotics about 4 different ones for pain and cure. She says none have been working and she is afraid she might have to get surgery. What other type of medications could help her?

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain bleeding and pus in ears is a clear indication that she has an ear infection and antibiotics are the medications needed to treat the infection..
In case if none of the antibiotics are working that are given to her there is a possibility that her body is resistant to certain antibiotics or group of antibiotics and due to which she might not respond to the antibiotics..
She needs to consult an Otolaryngologist and get evaluated thoroughly and he can advise an antibiotic sensitivity testing that can help in ruling out the cause for no improvement with antibiotics..
In case if there is resistance she will be given other group of antibiotics that she is not resistant to and that will help in resolving her infection..
Surgical drainage of the ears is also an option that will help in relieving her infection faster as the infection will be drained out..
She might also be advised to get Pressure Equalization tubes placed inside the ears as it will maintain pressure on both sides of ear drum as well as help in drainage..
Antibiotics that will not be resistant will be advised to her along with anti-inflammatory painkiller like Ibuprofen or Naproxen along with decongestant oral as well as nasal sprays..
Avoiding excess water exposure like swimming, exposure t loud sounds and picking of ears should be avoided..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards.
