How To Treat Dry And White Patches On Bilateral Cheeks And Chin?
My daughter has white patches on her bilateral cheeks and chin,it is very dry and rough. It seems to get better when she applies cetaphil cream .We started using 1% hydrocortisone ,it looked like it is getting better. But once we stopped ,it seemed to get back to the same rough and dry.
Thanks for your query . The symptoms you mention in query are pointing towards condition pityriasis alba . The exact cause due to which this happen is unknown , but it is suppose to be cause by excess sun exposure and considered to be a form of atopic dermatitis .
Usually the condition has no particular treatment . It goes away by its own . Treatment is done to prevent the worsening of the condition.
I would suggest you to apply moisturizer regularly , apply sunscreen at day time to prevent further damage and continue applying hydrocortisone cream but under expert advice .
If condition get worse then consult dermatologist for proper evaluation and treatment . Doctor may prescribe oral steroid or steroid ointment along with antihistamines .
Hope your concern has been resolved.
