Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I got bitten by a dog in my hand and arm a week ago, the punctures are closing but I can feel a hard lump under the skin on an area of about 1 x1 what is this could be blood clot or pus? what should I do? I am still taking antibiotics for 2 more days
Dear Friend. Welcome to HCM. I am Dr Anshul Varshney. I have read your query in detail. I understand your concern. This can be due to cellulitis of that area. I would advise you to get proper sterilized dressing done and to take Antibiotics like Augmentin in consultation with your doctor. You should also get Rabies Vaccination done. If the bite was with a high risk dog and was severe, you might require Immunoglobulins. This is my best advice for you with the available details, if you have any further query, please ask us. Stay Healthy
