My 10yr old son has been complaining about headaches off and on for over a year. Recently (about last 6months) they seem to be getting more intense and pretty much constant. Now he has also been complaining of dizziness and nausea with the headaches. I am giving him medicine on a daily basis and don t think that is fixing the problem. I had him seen number of times at the doctor s office in which they referred me to a neurologist but I can t get him in until early March, I don t think he can wait that long. Is this normal for a 10 year old to have such headaches?
Anemia or thyroid dysfunction is a possibility. If symptoms persist, it is better to consult a physician and get evaluated. A complete blood count and thyroid function test has to be done.
