How To Treat Diarrhea And Abdominal Discomfort Caused Due To Food Poisoning?

I had what I thought was food poising about two weeks ago....I have had diarrhea, a hard stomach/lower abdominal area and have had a 101.7 fever for two weeks now....I have never taken this long to recover from a food issue and even the flu only lasts about 4 days. I feel freezing cold but still have the temperature.I was bit by a tick about 3 days prior but do not have any rashes......thanks

Hello,

I really appreciate your concern, if this is the confirmed food poisoning then it demands the great care as long as the dehydration is concerned, else it is the self-limiting condition seldom need any treatment and if ever needed treatment then parenteral therapy needed here. If this is not the food poisoning then it could be protozoa infection or viral infection.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Akhtarhusain
