How To Treat Dermoid Cyst On Ovaries?

I have a dermoid cyst on my ovaries, discovered from an ultrasound of pelvic area. Dr has referred me to a Gynocologist soon. Is there a difference in types of Dermoid cysts? As well can a radiologist determine from an ultrasound if a cyst is cancerous?

Hi, a doctor can only determine the cust presence by the echogenicity of the ultrasound scan. The better scan would be CT. A dermoid cyst which is small may not be malignant. But to be sure you need to show a gynecologist. A laparotomy with fluid aspiration and testing can reveal the cancer status of the cyst...
