How To Treat Depression?

Hi, 10 months ago I lost my defacto partner of ten years. Over the past two months since taking sick leave from my job I have felt less motivated, no longer want to associate with friends, family, feel irritated alot, eating less and not healthy, sleep more, no longer enjoy what I use to, wanting to be left alone alot, like im going crazy, like I wana hide away, can t focus or stay on task, can not think of one thing without another interrupting, sorry for myself, etc, etc, etc. Am I depressed? If so which type?

Psychiatrist 's  Response
Hello thanks for asking from HCM

The symptoms like lack of motivation, poor sociality, irritable mood, changed eating habits, increased sleep, lack of enjoyment or anhedonia, poor focus and concentration along with poor performance at work (sick leave from work) etc are most likely due to moderate to severe depression but detailed evaluation is required to ascertain final diagnosis. I would advise you to visit a psychiatrist for proper diagnosis.
For treatment of depression SSRIs drugs are commonly used. Sertraline, Fluoxetine, Paroxetine etc are commonly used drugs. Visit a psychiatrist for prescription of these drugs.
Apart from this Cognitive Therapy have excellent roles in depression. The therapy will help to reduce your depressive symptoms and anxiety.

Thanks, hope this helps you.
