How To Treat Cough And Fever Inspite Of Taking Advil?

hello. I have a otherwise healthy 18 yro son. he has a headcold, cough, same as all 4 other people in the house. But he has had a fever since 6am today of 102.6. it went down at noon after 200 mg advil and food. but now back to 102.5. should I take him to the doc?

Yes he needs medical advice. If I was his treating physician, I would have prescribed him Amoxicillin500mg twice daily by mouth for 5,7days, Pkus Claritin by mouth once daily for 5days, Plus Ibuprofen600mg twice daily by mouth for fever. And off course I would have scheduled a follow up visit after 2 weeks.
