How To Treat Chronic Back Pain With Severe Anxiety Attacks?

Hello Dr, I've been suffering from chronic back pain for 2years now and it has taken over my life. About a mouth ago I started have really bad anxiety attacks. I'm a healthy 22yr old male so I don't understand whats happening to me. how do u stop the anxiety attacks from happening? and what should I do when they happen? I'm currently taking 25mg of Amitriptyline for the back pain.

I think, you have underline anxiety disorder and you need antidepressant treatment. I would suggest you paroxetine or sertraline as an antidepressants. These antidepressants are not available over the counter and you have to consult a psychiatrist for them. You can also take low dose benzodiazepine to get immediate relief.
