How To Treat Burning Pain And Electric Shock Sensation In Ankle?

Yesterday morning I began experiencing intermittent burning, electric shock like pain on the inner side of my right ankle. Sensations occur several times a minute and then may cease for an hour or so. However, the pain was much more constant last night while trying to sleep. What can I do to alleviate the pain / frequency until I can schedule a visit to a physician?

Hello,

You are suffering from burning pain and electric shock like sensations in the ankle. Your symptoms are indicative of hormonal imbalance and developing neuralgia. However, you are suggested to get clinically examined by a neurologist, get nerve conduction tests done, maintain healthy weight if overweight. You should take food that help regulate hormones and nourish the nervous system, it will help to reduce electric shock and burning sensations.

Take lean protein, complex carbs, and healthy fats. Take food rich in vitamin B12, like nuts, cheese, eggs, yogurt. etc. Magnesium is important for the nervous system to function. Take sunflower seeds, cacao, spinach, etc. You can also take supplements. Take food rich in Omega-3 fatty acids like walnuts, beans, flaxseeds, etc. Take oats, soy, tomatoes, flax, alfalfa, etc., to help resolve hormonal imbalance and relieve electric shock sensations.

Do regular exercise, reduce stress, stay away from addictions if any. Maintain correct posture while walking, running or sleeping. Get treated at the earliest. In the meantime you can take Naproxen or Combiflam, one stat when pain. You can take nerve supplements like NervUp OD, once daily for 7-10 days to help repair nerves.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
