How To Treat Blood In Stool Despite Giving Flora Zn For Protein Allergy?

Hi, we have twins of 8 month old. They had blood in stool last month and we took blood test to check for milk protein allergy and it was confirmed. We gave re flora z for a week and stopped all milk related products. Blood in stool stopped. But now again after 15 days. One of the twin started to have blood in stool again. Can we start giving reflora z. Plus advice.. We did even examine his anal last time and found infection due to milk protein allergy.

Hi,

Reflora Z acts as a probiotic and contains strain of yeast called saccharomyces boulardii, elemental zinc as well as others and used in the treatment of acute diarrhea in infants and children. It is a safe and effective medication for children if it is given in the dose and duration as directed by the prescribing doctor.

This medication helps to reduce the secretions of water as well as electrolytes from the gut and thus helps to replenish the fluids and electrolytes lost from the body as a result of diarrhea and improve gut health by promoting the growth of good bacteria in the gut. According to your statement, as Reflora Z helped to stop presence the blood in the stool previously, so you can try to give it again to your child or seek medical help from your child's doctor.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
