How To Treat Blisters On The Skin Caused After Spilling Hot Water And Oil?

My wife spilled some hot water from the stove on herself about an hour ago. The water had a little bit of oil in it; she was helping our son make tortollini. Her hand has some redness and soreness, but her stomach has some potential light blistering. What should we do about this?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello. These are second degree burns and to help with the pain she can cover the areas with Eucerin or aloe vera lotiion and apply ice. There should be no problem here unless the blisters burst and redness starts spreading from there since that would indicate a skin infection and she would then need a course of oral antibiotics
