How To Treat Blisters On Lips Due To Contact Sensitivity To Ventilator?
I have a 54y/o female pt recently discharged from 11d hospitalization for COPD and RDS. She had to be intubated. After extubation she showed extensive symptoms of contact sensitivity to the ventilator tape. She now has blisters on her lips w/swelling and inflammation. She is currently on Doxy for a concurrent UTI.What is the best therapy for her lips?

dear ,
it seems a case of allergic contact dermatitis leading to blister formation ,
and many pts are sensitive to the glue on adhesive tape ,
for treatment start anti histaminics and application of clarithromycin gel, if still does not subside u can use intravenous steroids for a short period.
