How To Treat Armpit Rashes And Metallic Odour?

Hi for the last 3 years I have had a rash under both armpits it smells metallic. I have seen 1 doctor who said it s a fungal infection the same as athletes foot. I am only looking for a second opinion and possibly a reason for the metallic smell. Also a possible a cure apart from athletes foot cream. Many thanks MAS

Hi,

You seem to have fungal infection..candidosis in axillae. It is caused by Candida albicans. Wetness, perspiration, soap ..etc might exacerbate the disease.

Blood tests may be done to rule out DM,HIV,anaemia or other internal disease. Immunity may be poor. You consult dermatologist for firm diagnosis.

You may take antifungal like ketoconazole or itraconazole for few weeks. Antifungal powder like clotrimazole may be sprinkled after bath. Clotrimazole cream may be applied at night.

Keep the area dry. Do not bath with soap. You may use dettol. Improve health and hygeine. Have nutritious food. You might improve after few weeks treatment.

I hope you got my answer.

Thanks.
