How To Treat An Elderly Male With Swollen Testes?

Hello Doctor,

My father aged 78 years is suffering from swollen testis for the past couple of days and is complaining of pain in his abdomen. Our physician has prescribed some medicines and he's taken them only for two days. Should we wait for couple of days or is there anything else that needs to be done?

Hi.
Thanks for your query and an elucidate history.
Do not wait any more at all.
You have to have and urgent ultrasonography and color doppler examination , physical examination by Urologist is also a must .
This can be an obstructed hernia or infected hydrocele or epididymo-orchitis.
He needs higher antibiotics and anti-inflammatory medicines, Scrotal support.
Also needed is blood , urine examination ...
