How To Treat A Scab Leading To Inflammation And Pain On Mons Pubis?
I have a spot on my mons pubis and it wont go away. i think i cut myself while shaving and now there is a spot there. i had a spot for about 2 weeks and it was inflamed and very painful but it went. then 4 weeks later it came back in the same place but with bleeding and pus. i has now turned into a scab
Since you have history of hurting your mons pubis during shaving and again you are having bleeding and pus, you have infected it. You are suggested to take care of your hygiene. Do not use any strong perfumes or body lotions or soaps with harsh chemicals. Apply ointment Soframycin or Neomycin on the area affected. Avoid sex for a couple of days. Wear soft loose fitting cotton clothes.
Take acetaminophen or Naproxen, one SOS to get rid of any irritation. Do not touch or scratch. For quicker healing, you can take a course of Ampilox -500 mg (combination of Ampicillin and Cloxacillin) or Augmentin.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
