I am a woman, 39, 5'2" and 125 lbs. I am thankfully in good health. Though I do not generally have acne, I currently have one pimple that has been causing some pain for a couple of days. It is quite small (3-4mm) and beside my left nostril. Is there a way to ease the pain in a hurry as I wait for it to heal?
Hello. Thanks for writing to us at healthcaremagic
I will keep a possibility of Furuncle, which is bacterial skin infection of the skin. Pain is usually severe in a furuncle; you may take an OTC painkiller/anti-inflammatory e.g Ibuprofen 400 mg twice Or thrice daily for symptomatic pain relief. Apart from pain killer I would also suggest Oral antibiotic, for a week. My choice of Oral antibiotics would be either Flucloxacillin Or Cephalexin. Oral antibiotics are prescription products and I will suggest that you talk to your priary physician for the needful Topical OTC antibacterial e.g 2% mupirocin ointment, twice daily would also hasten resolution.
