I was cleaning my ear piercing on my right ear and using a small cup full of hot water and quite abit of 100% tea tree oil. I put the cup on my ear and continuously for about 5-7 minutes going back and forth filling my ear with the mixture. I read somewhere that tea tree oil is good for infections but I did not realize that it was to be used on a cotton bud (Q-tip). I then started to get severe shooting pains in my ear, which were worsening by the minute. Then the shooting pains travelled to the back of my ear to that side of my neck and the side of my head. This pain got to unbearable that we rang the hospital. I was just wondering what damage the undiluted tea tree oil has done because the pain subsides after about 1 hour because I took strong painkillers which eased the excruciating pain. After the pain had calmed down a lot, we then canceled our out of hours appointment at the hospital. Just wondering about how much damage it may or can cause?
