How To Test If UPT Result Is False Negative?

Hi, so I went the hospital 4/16 and I ended up having a kidney or bladder infection and I had blood in my blood in my urine. We are trying to get pregnant so they did a test and said it was negative. I'm taking cephalexin and I was suppose to have menstrual today4/20 it hasn't came, I've had a few cramps but that's it no spotting. Can it be possible to have a false negative test being it was a urine test that had blood in it. And can cephalexin cause a missed period?? Thank you

I have gone through your Query & I really appreciate your concern about the problem you are facing.

As a physician I would like to tell you that Urine Pregnancy Tests could give sometimes negative results as you might be pregnant but your body is still not making sufficient hormone for the test to detect. One way is to get another home UPT test by yourself if your periods still does not start. And there is also blood Hcg test to detect the hormone as early as possible to rule out pregnancy. Antibiotics sometimes causes fluctuations to the menstrual cycle. don't worry about it.
