How To Taper Away From Taking Oxycodone?

Iwoulld like to stop taking OxyContin so I asked my dr to change my scrip from 40 mg contin to 1-2 10 mg oxycodone 3x per day. I have spinal stenosis in my Lumbar spine and neck due to a bad car accident and my rheumatologist the prescriber says I also have ankylosing spondylitis. I have spoken to an addiction therapist MD A relative and he mentioned try suboxone. ( This is a short story ) My question is DOES SUBOXONE RELIEVE PAIN?.

This is an increasing issue with new laws that limit the amount of opiate doctors are able to prescribe now. Suboxone is not indicated for pain by the FDA but some patients do report that their pain is much better when they are on it. There are many medication options to add to an opiate that will help to control pain as well or you can start seeing someone for a different type of treatment such as Osteopathic Manipulation, chiropractics, physical therapy, acupuncture, injections, etc. You should take openly with your doctor about these options and your concerns or be referred to a pain specialist.
