General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Prolonged menstrual bleeding is an expected side effect of birth control pills. The bleeding will subside in a few days. There is nothing to worried about at this point.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Lekshmi Rita Venugopal, General & Family Physician
