General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello and thank you for the question.
Home treatement can help you treat your diarrhea. So,take frequent, small sips of water or rehydration drink and small bites of salty crackers.Try to increase your fluid intake to at least 1 qt(1L) per hour for 1 to 2hours or longer if you keep having large amounts of diarrhea.Begin eating mild foods, avoid spicy foods, fruits, alcohol and caffeine until 48hours,avoid chewing gum and milk. You can use nonprescription antidiarrheal medicine if you have diarrhea for longer than 6hours.There are several types of antidiarrheal medicines, such as:thickening mixtures absorb water, antispazmodic antidiarrheals such as Imodium A _D,probiotics such as Laktobacillus.
Best regards
