Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Three days after starting taking cymbalta I started having constant dirhea. Its been over two weeks now and not getting any beter. My doctor advised for me to stop the cymbalta which I did three days ago.?..its still uncontrollable. I have also lost six lbs. Is this normal
Thank you for your query. I can understand your concerns. Cymbalta (duloxetine hydrochloride) is a selective serotonin and norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor (SSNRI) for oral administration. It is prescribed for major depressive disorder and generalized anxiety disorder. Cymbalta (duloxetine hydrochloride) can occasionally cause diarrhea. You need to stop Cymbalta. You can take ant-diarrheal drug like Loperamide (2 mg) 1 tablet three times a day for 1-2 days.
