How To Stay Off From Drugs?

My son is trying really hard to get medical insurance to help him go see a physician to assist him with staying off drugs. He is currently applying but what can he do in the meantime to help him STAY off them? He has been clean around 3 weeks but it really gets hard for him.

Hi, I had gone through your query and understand your concerns.

First thing to be done is let him remind himself of the reasons you want to change. Think about your past attempts at quitting, if any. What worked? What didn’t? Set specific, measurable goals, such as a quit date or limits on your drug use. Remove reminders of addiction from home and workplace. Tell friends and other family members about the idea of quitting drugs and ask for their support. After the insurance comes, you can go for proper treatment options.

Mean while let him spend most of the time in good groups. Have relaxation measures like. Let him lean on close friends and family, Build a sober social network, Consider moving in to a sober living home, Make meetings a priority, learn healthy ways to cope with stress.
Hope this helps you. Good luck
