How To Remove Mucous From Ear?

How can i drain the mucous from my ear. I had a cold/sinus infection for two days and from what I have read, when there is a crackling or squeaky sound in my ear when swallowing indicates mucous in the eustachian tube. It is very annoying and uncomfortable. Please help. Thanks.
