How To Remove Dark Spots On Ankle While Having Diabetes?

Hello, my father is 88. He is diabetic, and has poor circulation. He told me recently that he has dark spots on both ankles, which he has had for a week, and that the skin there is particularly sensitive. He has been using Uremol 20 cream on his feet and legs, but just discontinued it. Should I be concerned?

Diabetologist 's  Response
dear sir I can understand your concern
in my opinion the dark spots on ankle might be due to two resons
1.diabetic dermopathy :- this is a skin condition seen in long term diabetes due to accumulation. of advanced glycated end products and this will not do any harm but cosmological view it might not look pleasing for most of patients
2.diabetic peripheral vascular disease :-in this condition there will be decreased blood supply to lower Lima which will bring ischemic changes in feet this is slightly complicated condition because the wounds will take loner time to heal in this condition
most of dermatological conditions need to be seen by a doctor for a better diagnosis
I suggest you meet a demartogist for a opinion
I suggest you to check arterial Doppler to check blood supply if feet
