How To Relieve A Toddler Of Excessive Thirst And Frequent Urination?

My 2 year old son has a hemoglobin level of 9.1 and his platelet count is high but not sure of number. Something in his urine also showed an issue with his kidneys. The past 2-3 weeks he has had very excessive thirst and urinating very frequently. Pcp has referred him to a pediatric nephrologist. Is there anything I can do to help him before this appointment. Also how soon should he be seen if the appointment isn't very soon?

Hi,

As of now nothing much to do, you can make an input/output chart to assess the urine output. Consult a nephrologist at the earliest and he might require an ultrasound scan for further evaluation. Wishing you good health.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
