How To Proceed With This MRI Test Result Leading To Pain In Thigh?

Hello, thank you in advance for your help! About a month ago I began having severe muscle spasm type pain in my right thigh. I though this was due to "over working" as I was getting ready for Christmas. I only have pain with weight bearing, then some intense throbbing for about 10 minutes. I have been using a walker and occasionally a wheelchair. An MRI revealed a small amount of edema, no hematoma, but there was a large amount of artifact since I have had a knee replacement. About a week ago I developed what I assumed was a large, quarter size, fever blister on the right side of my nose. Today I saw my ortho who thought maybe this was a shingles lesion as it looks like 8-9 blisters in various stages of healing, and wondered if my thigh pain might be shingles. I do not have a rash on my thigh, but do have deep pain on palpation both laterally and medially. He has ordered a bone scan to rule out any bone involvement that the MRI was unable to detect. What do you think?
