How To Proceed With This MRI Result For Cysts On Liver And Kidney?

My ultrasound has revealed a 1.5cm simple cyst on the left lobe of the liver and a 1.0 cm simple cyst on the lower left pole of the left kidney. I am a 52 year old male and some months ago i did have a lot of pain on the left side and trouble to go(some blood ) but just figured maybe i was dehydrated and certainly wasn t drinking enough water. Now understanding that a cyst could be causing a blockage what diet changes should i make and would this lead to more serious problems if neglected. I am fairly active and not overweight .

Hi,

Based on your MRI result, you have simple cysts on your liver and kidney. Simple cysts are typically benign, fluid-filled sacs that do not cause any significant health problems. However, if the cysts become larger or cause symptoms, they may require further evaluation and treatment.

It is important to follow up with your doctor to discuss the significance of these cysts and any further testing or monitoring that may be necessary. In some cases, additional imaging studies or a biopsy may be recommended to further evaluate the cysts.

In terms of diet changes, there is no specific diet that has been shown to prevent or treat cysts in the liver or kidney. However, it is important to maintain a healthy diet and stay well-hydrated to support overall health and kidney function. You should also avoid excessive alcohol consumption, as this can damage the liver and potentially exacerbate liver cysts.

If left untreated, cysts on the liver or kidney can potentially cause complications such as infection, bleeding, or rupture. Therefore, it is important to continue monitoring these cysts and seeking medical attention if you experience any new symptoms or changes in your condition.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
