Pediatrician 's  Response
Hello,

Being unable to see objects that are far off is known as myopia. Myopia is common in children.

It is usually discovered between 8 and 12 years of age. It is common for myopia to worsen at her age and in teenage years.

There is little change in myopia between 20 and 40 years of age. People who have strabismus put their head sideways to watch TV.

With strabismus the eyes do not move together. One eye or both eyes are crossed inward or outward.

Children with strabismus tend to rub their eyes often. It would be wise for her to be evaluated by a pediatric ophthalmologist for both conditions.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Arnold Zedd, Pediatrician
