I was just in the ER with an large asthma attack. My 02 sat was 87%, pb 172/90 and my Hr was 122. After hours of nabs and o2 I was sent home. I m only 35 have asthma for most of my life now. With about 7 stays in the hospital... this one by far was scary and now I m feeling very uneasy that I might have another tonight. My PB has never been 172/90 before.
You should start medications like Beta 2 agonists inhalers and steroids. If you are already on medication you should consult your doctor and request him to add mast cell stabilizers or long acting beta 2 agonists to your regime. Also, you should wear masks, try to identify the triggering factor for your attacks and avoid it. Make sure you have your medications regularly with you and visit your doctor regularly.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Hiba Tehrim, General & Family Physician
