How To Overcome Depression?

I had a boyfriend when I was in university, we were together for almost 2 yrs, then he moved to London for Job.when he came back after one and a half yrs, he came to my house with marriage prosposal, but my father refused as he was muslim and I was Hindu. He went back to London without even meeting me, and behind him I got married to some other guy. After 18 yrs he spotted me on face book and made me so emotional. He is a businessman and a millionaire now.He is married and have kids and even I'm married and have kids.I live in Canada and he is still in UK.He thinks that I've betrayed him. When he met me after 18 yrs, he used to call me several times a day and used to make me cry by reminding me the past when I got totally obsessed with him, he stopped even calling me. Its been almost one and a half yrs since we came accross through fc bk.I've made my condition really miserable, I keep thinking about him day and night, and going through a depression,I lost interest in any thing.and I just want to talk to him, but he avoids me now,and says he loves his wife and family.
Does he still love me now?
If not, how can I get over him? Please help me.

Psychiatrist 's  Response
In a case such as yours, as a psychiatrist, I would evaluate the patient for clinical depression. In your case, if you are sad most of the time, if don't have interest in things that you usually enjoy, if your sleep and appetite is affected, if you feel tired, can't concentrate, have no confidence, feel guilty and have pessimistic thoughts, find life not worth living, you should consult a psychiatrist. Getting treatment for your depression will help you getting over him.
In the meantime, in my opinion, it is in your interest not to try contact your ex-boyfriend. This will help in bringing closure to the issue in your mind.
Hope this answers your question.
