hello sir..i was opium addict for 7-8 years and then i started visiting psychiatrist..he prescribed me bupin and its been two years now , i hadnt taken opium..bupin i started from 4 tabs 3 times a day and gradually reduced it.. some 3-4 days back i was taking bupin forte(0.4mg) 3 tabs per day..problem is due to some hard steps taken by punjab government against drug peddlers there is a huge huge rush at deaddiction centers ...i dont want to visit my psychiatrist in such a scenario..now i want to leave bupin altogether, please suggest some method to get rid of bupin forte while minimizing the hardship..at present i had 7 tablets of bupin forte left with me and from last 3 days i am taking half tablet morning/evening but havent slept properly ..please help

Hello
The tablet you are using is to treat the opium dependence and this tablet itself is addictive if you took it in an unsupervised manner. You can not leave or continue the tablet by your own, it would worsen the situation and that will depend on the control of symptoms you experience. My advice would be to stick to your treating doctor. You would find it difficult to go regularly to the centre, but your hardship of few days could improve your life just think this way. And certainly you would be able to leave the tablet if you took supervised treatment without the breaks.
Hope this helps you.
Regards
