How To Manage Uncomfortable Heart Sensations Caused By Mitral Valve Prolapse?
I am a 44 year single mother of two that was diagnosed with mitral valve prolaspe about a year ago. When I am under extreme stress I sometimes have a strange sensation in my chest that is not really painful but more uncomfortable. This usually happens at night. Any suggestions and how to manage these symptoms?
Hello,I have gone through your question.First of all let me assure you that Mitral valve prolapse is by and large benign condition. It is characterised mainly 3 important symptoms, chest pain, palpitation and dizziness .many a times it is precipitated by stress. The strange sensation in chest, which you have, is because of this,i request you to start Tab.Inderal 40 mg twice a day for atleast 4 to 6 weeks.i also suggest you to take Tab.Alprazolam 0.25 mg at bed time for atleast a week.you should get your coloue doppler echo done every year.I am sure you will be fine.I can understand your stress as a single mom.But you will be quite alright performing all your duties.I will be happy to guide you in future in this connection. My best wishes.
