How To Maintain A Hygienic Scalp That Becomes Dry In Winter?

Winter is making my dry scalp problems worse. I am a fairly healthly 25 year old woman with a mild amount of stress. I have very oily hair, which needs to be washed every 3 days to maintain a socially acceptable appearance. But when I do wash, my dry scalp gets very bad. Its embaressing when others point out what they think is dandruff. In college, i managed to alievate my dry scalp by not washing my hair for months at a time and at one time shaving my head entirely. As i now hold a full time job working with people- this is not possible.
How can i maintain a hygenic appearance in public and make my scalp not so dry?

I have tried expensive shampoos, all natural, tea tree oil... you name it. Nothing works except having discustingly oily hair. Help?

Hello,
Thanks for the query,
You might be suffering from seborrhea of scalp.
Apply a mild steroid shampoo.
Flucinolone will help you lot.
It comes with trade name sebowash.
Dont oil your scalp.
Oil reduces dryness for sometime but increases seborrhea.
Instead of that use a good conditioner.
Please meet a dermatologist for exact diagnosis.
Let me know if you have any other doubt.
