Hi,I am Dr. Prabhakar Koregol (Cardiologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I donated blood last week and check my cholesterol level today. It was 241. I am 5'9, 215lbs....Female. Is this a VERY bad cholesterole level? What are some easy, inexpensive ways to get it down to a healthy level? Also, I do have heart disease in my family, what symptoms do I need to look for?
Thank you for posting on HCM I presume you had a blood test that was taken when you were fasting to check cholesterol - as it is the most accurate way to check cholesterol. To help reduce levels - you will need to start exercise at least 45 minutes moderate intensity which will make you break out in sweats + also using all low fat options in diet. If you have family risk of heart D - it is very important to start these measures straight away. Thanks again
