How To Lower Blood Pressure Level?

Hi, i have had my blood pressur taken at the gym today before my workout. I was surprised to find that it came back at 155/108! They allowed me my session in the gym under strict supervision but i wanted to know if i am at high risk of heart attack or stroke and what i need to do to lower it. I currently weigh 228 lbs and am 5ft 4 in, thanks.
