Hello and welcome to HCM, The interpretation of Widal test is as follows: Widal test is done for typhoid fever. It tests antigens for Salmonella typhi and Salmonella paratyphi. The titres of 1:80 and above are significant and indicate presence of infection due to Salmonella typhi and paratyphi. The test results suggest presence of Salmonella paratyphi antigen A and C in titres above 1:160. Thus, infection with Salmonella paratyphi is present and it should be treated with appropriate antibiotics.
