General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
From history it seems that inspite of taking Iron medicine for long time does not improve your hemoglobin, there might be having few causes giving this problem.
1, chronic blood loss from menstruation, some diseases like hemorrhoids, gastric ulcer.
2, having some worm infestation.
3, food deficient in iron or protein.
Consult your doctor and discuss about all possibilities.
Take high protein diet, green vegetables, fresh fruits and juices.
Low hemoglobin and mal-nourishment does affect on pregnancy.
Ok and take care.
