How To Improve Memory

Hi, how are you doing? Hope you are doing well. My name is Wendy, and I am 38 years old. I have been the USA for a year and I am studying English, but the ways I am study English or very thing is very slowly, and I always take along time for understand or remember every thing I was study in class, even I did not remember anything I was study in class earlier. It took a long time for me when I get back home, and tried to remember everything I was study in class. I usually go to bed late, and sometimes I went to bed at 2:30 a.m early morning. I know it is not good for my health, but I have to finish my homework before I go to school in the morning. I am a hard student, but I am not a good student, yet.*()* My Final Exams are coming, but I do not remember exactly every things I was study before. Hmmm, it is my big big problem. My questions are: Could you please tell me what should I do now? Should I take medicine? What kind of medicine is good for my brain keep memories, or study faster? Which food is good for my brain, or which food is helpful for my memories? PS:Thanks for reading my questions. I also know my grammar is not too good, so thank you for understand. Hope you have a nice weekend. Wendy Doerr

Hi,

To have good memory you need to have some sleep hygiene. I would recommend you plan to hit the bed early and wake up early. Try this in weekend where you don't have homework the next day. Do the next days homework early morning. Sleep affects the memory positively and if possible try to have a small nap in day whenever possible. Short nap of 20 to 30 mins. It improves your memory. Basically, you need to give your brain proper rest for it to function properly.

Almonds, walnuts are good. Check your hemoglobin also and make sure you are not anemia. Take iron rich food. Have a journal and end of the day take 10 to 15 mins to pen down all that comes to your mind that you have learnt for the day. Go back and read them every day morning and add some whenever you remember. This way you can improve your memory. Do not get anxious about your difficulty in learning. Focus on how to overcome. It is a good decision to reach out.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
