How To Handle Unusual Sexual Orientation?

Okay I know I am completely straight but stupid thoughts are trying to tell me I'm not even when I know I am and it's sickening and hard to get rid of. I've liked boys ever since I was little and I know I will never like girls how do I push away these thoughts and get back to my normal life?

Hello and welcome to Healthcare Magic. Thanks for your query.

I understand that you are confused and distressed about your sexual orientation. From the limited information that you have provided, it appears that you have homosexual thoughts and this seems to be distressing you.

But you have not mentioned anything about your sexual attraction of preference towards women. Generally, a person is considered to have homosexual orientation only if a person's sexual attraction is 'primarily' or 'exclusively' to persons of the same sex.

If you are distressed by your homosexual thoughts, I would suggest that you consult a psychiatrist for a detailed evaluation and further help.

Wish you all the best.

Regards,
Dr. Jonas Sundarakumar
