How To Get Rid Of The Hiccups?

I have had about a week ago surgery for a repair of abd,hernia (previously corrected). At that time my upper bowel was inflamed with swelling and pain++ and I had hiccups ++ also .Since the surgery, the hiccups have not disappeared; they may have decreased a bit. WHAT CAN I DO TO GET RID OF THE HICCUPS?

Noted the history suffering from hiccoughs due to inflamed upper bowels and had undergone surgery for repair of abdominal hernia but the hiccoughs have not disappeared, wants to know the what can be done...
Since the hiccoughs have been present for more than a week as per the history you have provided, I would advise you the following:
We shall first try to get the proper diagnosis:
X-ray of the chest to see for any phrenic nerve lesion.
X-ray and ultrasound of the neck to see if there is any swelling in the line of phrenic nerve whether in neck or chest.
Ultrasound of the abdomen to see any collection under the diaphragm.
If present the treatment has to be done about the causes to get it treated in such a way that there is a complete cure.
