How To Get Rid Of Patch On Inner Thighs?

Hi, I had jock itch abt 3 years ago. Even though itching is gone I m left with skin discolouration. Because I m South Indian, the discolouration patch on both of my inner thighs is visible I had it for 3 years. I tried everything from tea tree oil to salt baths to creams. I don t have itching just the discolouration. How do I get rid of it? Please help.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Jock itch occurs due to fungal infection. Although itching has reduced without any treatment, fungal infections can remain in your skin and flare up whenever your body immunity reduces. Increased sweating and poor personal hygiene can also increase the risk of infections. I would suggest you to use anti-fungal cream such as Miconazole to be applied on the patch. Oral Fluconazole single dose can also be taken with the drug.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
